Nick Greene

Nick Greene is a technical manager, software engineer, and web designer who has been in love with space all his life. He grew up with the space program, watching many of the early NASA manned flights on black and white television, including the great "One small step for man." He continues to be a huge supporter of space exploration.

Nick is the former Space Guide for the New York Times' About.com website, where he provided news, information and commentary on astronomy and space topics for over 7 years. He had worked with About.com since 1997, shortly after its birth as The Mining Company. That relationship with space.about.com ended in 2009.

Mr. Greene has traveled extensively, visiting over 30 countries and all 7 continents. He spent seven years with the US Antarctic Program, traveling to Antarctica each year. he continues to travel for work and for pleasure, recently adding Okinawa to his list.

Nick Greene has been creating Internet content for over 15 years since creating the original Callahan's Saloon Online in 1992, a popular online gathering place based on the novels and stories of Spider Robinson. He has created and maintained several other web sites. Mr. Greene is also an amateur astronomer, a member of the Planetary Society, UN World Space Week Coordinator for the continent of Antarctica, and cofounder of the Antarctic Astronomy Society.
Education:

Mr. Greene's background is in electronics, communications, and computers. He has also trained in Journalism, Film Making, and Software Engineering. Nick has a goal of life-long continuing education. He is also certified in HTML 3.2 and as a Master in English Vocabulary.
